La shortlist per gli IHWA

Gli International Historic Motoring Awards, presentati da Lockton, hanno annunciato la shortlist dell’edizione 2026, confermandosi uno degli appuntamenti di riferimento per il panorama internazionale delle automobili da collezione. I riconoscimenti celebrano ogni anno le personalità, le vetture, gli eventi e le istituzioni che contribuiscono alla conservazione e alla valorizzazione del patrimonio automobilistico.

La selezione di quest’anno nasce da oltre 400 candidature provenienti da tutto il mondo, distribuite in ben 16 categorie, mentre i vincitori saranno annunciati il 13 novembre durante la cerimonia di gala al Peninsula London. La votazione pubblica per il Car of the Year rimane aperta fino al 30 ottobre.

Jay Leno, per la campagna a sostegno della legge californiana Leno’s Law, volta a tutelare l’accesso alle automobili da collezione.
Lord Bamford, per aver guidato il progetto JCB Hydromax, protagonista nel 2026 di un record mondiale di velocità su terra a 406,320 mph, circa 653,9 km/h, con un veicolo alimentato a idrogeno.
Manvendra Singh, per oltre cinquant’anni dedicati alla conservazione e alla promozione del patrimonio automobilistico indiano.
Mark Hastings, per aver guidato le celebrazioni del centenario del Grand Prix al Brooklands Museum, riunendo oltre 120 monoposto storiche e Formula 1.
Rob Manson, per aver organizzato le celebrazioni del 75º anniversario delle corse di Pebble Beach, riunendo 40 vetture storiche.
Tom Hartley Jnr, per l’apertura nel 2026 della nuova sede dedicata alle automobili da collezione e per gli investimenti destinati allo sviluppo del settore.
